Semaglutide is designed to mimic a GLP-1, a hormone that we naturally produce when we eat to help control blood sugar levels. By mimicking this hormone, Semaglutide can help stimulate insulin production, suppress the release of glucagon, delay the rate at which your stomach empties & reduce your appetite.

The science of Semaglutide
Active ingredients
Semaglutide is the primary active ingredient, which is the same as in commercial products like Ozempic and Wegovy. It’s a GLP-1 receptor agonist used to manage blood sugar levels and promote weight loss. Additional excipients, stabilizers and solvents are added to help with absorption.
Mechanism
Semaglutide is usually administered through subcutaneous injection. The specific dosage will be determined by healthcare professionals based on individual needs. Strict adherence to the prescribed administration guidelines is crucial for optimal results.
History
Semaglutide is part of the GLP-1 receptor agonist class, developed by Novo Nordisk. The U.S. FDA approved semaglutide under the brand name Ozempic® in 2017 for type 2 diabetes and Wegovy® in 2021 for weight management. Compounded semaglutide, when prescribed, is prepared by licensed pharmacies and is not FDA-approved or identical to branded products.

Everyone’s results will differ. Some people might only lose 1-5 lbs per month and some may lose 15-20 lbs per month. Also, keep in mind that it can take up to 2 months for the medication to fully absorb into your body. So, just have patience!
If you feel you've plateaued with your semaglutide therapy, remember that plateaus are a natural part of any weight loss or metabolic control journey. Over time, your body may adapt to the changes, which can sometimes slow down progress. This is normal, and it doesn’t mean the medication isn’t working.Semaglutide is designed to help with appetite control and glucose regulation, but it’s not a quick fix. It’s important to stay focused on your long-term goals and continue making healthy lifestyle choices, including regular physical activity and mindful eating. Feeling increased hunger or slower results may be your body adjusting to these changes. If you're concerned, reach out to your clinical team—they can review your progress, assess your current dosage, and help you troubleshoot any factors that may be contributing to the plateau. Sometimes, a dosage adjustment or a renewed focus on lifestyle factors may be needed to get you back on track. Stay consistent, stay patient, and remember that sustainable results take time.
We will prescribe up to a maximum of 2mg per week (as medically required). If you feel you need a higher dose, please contact your physician and we will adjust the amount we send you for your next 90 day supply. There will be no extra fee's incurred.

- Bexarotene
Using bexarotene together with semaglutide may increase the risk of pancreatitis, or inflammation of the pancreas. - Desflurane, Enflurane, Etomidate, Fospropofol, Halothane, Isoflurane, Ketamine, Methohexital, Methoxyflurane, Nitrous Oxide, Propofol, Sevoflurane, Thiopental
These agents may increase the risk of regurgitation and pulmonary aspiration of gastric contents in patients undergoing general anesthesia. This is due to delayed gastric emptying caused by stimulation of central nervous system GLP-1 receptors and vagal nerve activation. Pulmonary aspiration during anesthesia can lead to pneumonitis, aspiration pneumonia, other lung injury, and even death. - Gatifloxacin
Gatifloxacin can affect blood glucose levels and should not be used in patients with diabetes. Both hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) and, less frequently, hyperglycemia (high blood glucose) have been reported. Severe cases of hypoglycemia have resulted in coma and even death.W
